10 · Airstream questions
Airstream owners,
this one's for you.
Riveted aluminum is its own discipline. Here's how we handle the structural, power, storage, and care questions Airstream owners ask us most. Don't see yours? Call 303-557-2214.
Repairs & structure
Do you repair Airstream travel trailers?
Yes — we specialize in it. Aluminum body repair, structural corrections, roof service, electrical, solar, and interior house systems. Airstream construction is nothing like a fiberglass RV; we understand how aluminum shells, rivets, and structural components work together, and how to repair them correctly.
Do you repair Front End Separation on Airstreams?
Yes. Front End Separation is a known issue on certain Airstream models — particularly those with front storage compartments. We properly correct the separation, reinforce the affected structure, and restore alignment and integrity to the front cap and frame connection. If you're noticing gaps, movement, separation at the front seam, or unusual flexing, have it inspected promptly — left unaddressed, it gets worse.
Why does Front End Separation occur?
It typically comes from stress, frame flex, weight distribution, or long-term structural fatigue. On models with front storage compartments, the added weight contributes to stress at the shell-to-frame connection. This is a structural issue, not cosmetic, and should be handled by a shop familiar with Airstream construction.
Do you repair hail damage and replace aluminum panels?
Yes to both. We repair hail and aluminum panel damage, and we can replace damaged aluminum sheets — restoring proper fit and finish while maintaining the integrity of the shell structure.
Do you service Airstream roofs?
Yes. We service and repair all Airstream roof types, including reseals and leak diagnostics. We do not do full roof replacements. Colorado's hail and UV make roof maintenance especially important.
Power & electrical
Do you install solar and lithium systems on Airstreams?
Yes — we're Victron-certified and install lithium battery and solar systems using trusted brands like Epoch, Renogy, Go Power, Rich Solar, and Merlin Solar. Airstream owners usually want dependable off-grid capability, so we design around how you actually camp — not a generic parts list.
Can you upgrade my inverter or power management system?
Absolutely. We install and configure Victron, Xantrex, Magnum, and WFCO inverter and power systems tailored to Airstream electrical layouts.
Do you install lift kits?
Yes — we install lift kits to improve ground clearance and towing performance when appropriate.
Eligibility & storage
Do you work on older Airstreams? Engines or generators?
We service Airstreams less than 20 years old. We specialize in house systems only — electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, roofing, and structural shell work. We don't work on engines or generators.
Can I store my Airstream with you?
Yes. We offer secure, climate-controlled, temperature-regulated indoor storage, or uncovered outdoor storage — and no winterizing is required when stored indoors with us. We can also service your Airstream whether it's stored indoors or outdoors at our facility.
Maintenance
How often should I service my Airstream?
Routine maintenance is critical for long-term structural and mechanical health — especially with aluminum construction. We recommend:
Every 10,000 miles
- Inspect or replace brakes as needed
- Inspect Nev-R-Lube bearings during tire rotation (per Dexter guidelines)
- Inspect and rotate tires; check tire pressure
- Lubricate spare tire carrier
- Clean windows and door seals, treat with silicone
- Lubricate escape window latches
- Clean and protect battery terminals
Every 5,000 miles
- Lubricate main door latch with dry graphite
- Lubricate exterior door locks and hinges
- Lubricate LPG hold-down
- Torque wheel lug nuts (110 ft-lbs aluminum, 100 ft-lbs steel)
- Inspect and lubricate breakaway switch
- Clean 7-way plug
- Lubricate and inspect main door step
Regular service prevents larger structural and braking issues down the road.

Do you perform complete Airstream maintenance inspections?
Yes. Our comprehensive Airstream inspections cover structural checks, braking systems, roof integrity, seal inspections, electrical review, and safety component evaluation. Preventative maintenance is far less expensive than structural repair.
Ceramic coating
Do you offer ceramic coating for Airstreams?
Yes — professional ceramic coating applications formulated specifically for aluminum Airstream exteriors.
What are the benefits of ceramic coating an Airstream?
It delivers long-term protection that wax can't match:
- Protection against UV, oxidation, acid rain, and contaminants
- Easier cleaning from hydrophobic surface properties
- Reduced fading and dulling of the aluminum
- Resistance to minor scratches and swirl marks, plus chemical resistance
- Enhanced gloss and improved resale value
For Colorado owners dealing with intense UV, it's a smart long-term investment.
Is ceramic coating better than waxing?
Yes. Traditional wax is short-term protection. Ceramic coatings bond to the surface for long-lasting durability, deeper gloss, and superior environmental resistance.
